I'm Haochi Zhang. I work with financial models, risk, and applied AI.
Most things I find interesting begin with the same question: whether an idea from one domain can help make sense of a problem in another. A statistical model, a software architecture, a research workflow, and a theory of language may look like very different objects, but often the useful part is the structure they share.
Abstractions are useful precisely because they leave things out. The interesting part, to me, is often figuring out what was left out, when it starts to matter, and whether another way of representing the problem makes the structure clearer.
Building is another way of thinking through those questions. Making something concrete forces assumptions into the open: what should be formalized, what should remain flexible, what belongs in a model, and what has to be learned from reality.
No Closed Form is where I keep the things that come out of that process — notes, projects, and ideas that are still being worked through.
